It's been a while

Yep, it's been a while since my last blog post...This is the reason

My brand new Roland TD 4K electronic drum set, I've been spending most of my spare time drumming, but now I'm going to get into gear and back date a few posts.

Castermania

World 800m Womans IAAF Champion, Caster Semenya arrives at O.R Tambo, Southern Sun for a press-conference after flying back from Berlin. Semenya has been embroiled in a gender controversy after winning the 800m.A large group of supporters at O.R Tambo airport awaiting the arrival of Team SA.It's really unfortunate the way events have unfolded around Caster Semenya, I'll admit she is a bit muscular and manly for your average woman, but the humiliation she has had to endure recently is sickening, even at the press-conference held near the airport.
Reporters from all over the world, kept asking about the gender issue, testosterone levels and who's to blame for the speading of the rumours and the polititians were blatently trying to get a bit of kudos for being Mr nice guy... and nice woman.
All I wanted was for one of them to forget about the gender issue and simply ask her how she felt about the large crowd that was there waiting to welcome her home or how she felt her run went, like they do to any other athlete at the press-conference when they come back with a gold medal....., But they didn't.I felt so bad for her, hopefully this will be resolved soon and she'll come back someday with more golds and they will finally ask the right questions.

Jacob meets Morgan

South African President Jacob Zuma meets mith Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai at Luthuli House in Johannesburg.

Golden Miles Bhudu stood chained up outside in a one man protest about conditions in Zimbawean jails. Morgan never even looked at him, He's got bigger problems than that.

Old and unwanted.

A Johannesburg firefighter hoses down a small fire in the old post-office on Rissik street across the street from the Gauteng Legislature building in the Johannesburg CBD.This building in the Johannesburg CBD has been empty since as long as I can remember, surely something can be done with it other than simply letting it rot. Sell it, demolish it, refurbish it, whatever!
Maybe even refurbish it into a type of low cost housing for some of the thousands of people in the city looking for somewhere decent to stay.
I have a theory, the reason that it is so tightly closed up, unlike many other buildings in the CBD that are simply left for squatters to occupy, is simply because its right across the road from the Gauteng Legislature, so the politicians would have to look at it the poor people squatting in it. Now we cant have that..

The first test.
