Exercise Young Eagle

An Oryx helicopter flies by during the open day at the culmination of Exercise Young Eagle held at the SA Army Combat training Centre at Lohatlha in the Northern Cape. The exercise includes various units of the army and culminates in the battle at Aasvoelkop in which the Air Force plays a part as well as the armoured units and infantry.

Jugomaro Predator Park

Justin Fernandes with Fido whilst conducting a tour of the facilities during a visit by The Citizen to Jugomaro Predator Park in Groblersdal, Limpopo. The park was in the news a few years back when Panjo (Seen in picture below) one of the parks tigers escaped and recently when the park was liquidated and the animals were darted and packed up in what is alleged to be unprofessional methods and dubious practices when the animals were kept in containers with no professional supervision or care.

Shootout on M1 highway.

One suspect was arrested and one managed to flee on foot after a shoot-out ensued between SAPS and the suspects after the police tried to stop the red car they were travelling in on the M1 South, just after the Grayston off ramp in Sandton.There was an AK47, ammunition and a camera which is believed to have been used to target houses for home robberies.

Denver train crash

Police at a train crash at Denver station in Johannesburg. The crash resulted in one death and over 250 injuries. The collision apparently occurred when the driver of the Business Express (The white train) failed to stop at a red light and collided with the stationary yellow Metro Plus train in Denver station.
