Anti-Zuma protests

 Protesters of all races on a bridge in Bedfordview as part of the Anti-Zuma protests that took place all over the country, 7 April 2017.  The President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma is highly controversial and protected by the ruling party, the ANC. He is allegedly linked with state capture, which has seen the country downgraded, billions being siphoned off from the fiscus and laws of the country being flauted by his close friends.

Meter taxi protest

A Congolese man leaves his rental car and starts walking along the highway towards the airport to catch his flight during a protest by meter taxi drivers on the R24 near the Barbara off ramp near OR Tambo International airport.They blocked the highway that leads to the airport causing massive delays during their protest over the losses they are making due to the cab hailing app, UBER.

Olievenhoutbosch protest

Protesters from the Olievenhoutbosch community barricaded roads and protested against what they say is corrupt dealings with the distribution of RDP houses, 6 March 2017. They also went house to house in a RDP development forcing residents to produce proof that they received the house legally and didn't buy it as they say is happening.

Mine rescue attempt

Mine rescue drop a specialized dolly with a camera on down the hole during the rescue attempt of a 5 year old child that fell down a  large sinkhole formed around an old mine shaft in Jerusalem informal settlement near Witfield in Germiston, Ekurhuleni. 
The rescue attempt was finally called off as the sides of the mine shaft were too unstable to rescue the child that would have unlikely survived the 40 meter fall.



Jozi@work

Barricaded roads during a protest by former Jozi@work employees outside the official opening event of the River Park clinic in Alexandra, Johannesburg. They are unhappy about the cancellation of the Jozi@work program. The opening had to be cancelled by the Executive Mayor, Herman Mashaba due to the protest.
